A Little Jewel Plugin for WordPress: No Cache AJAX Widgets
There are several page caching plugins available for WordPress, with an installed base of perhaps more than 5 million, according to WordPress.org. This means that a large number of WordPress sites use a page caching plugin.
However, what if you want to include a real-time widget in the sidebar of your homepage or another page? For example, a weather plugin or a trending posts plugin? Most of these are not powered by Ajax and, since the page is cached, you will always serve old data.
This issue can be easily resolved if your plugin supports a shortcode. In that case, using the No Cache AJAX Widgets WordPress plugin will do the job for you.
