A few months back some customer was eager to upgrade his Osclass 3.9 to Osclasspoint 4.4 release.
Despite my suggestions, he was determined to do so. For his own reasons, we do not question customers decisions.
All went extremely well, very little compatibility problems that were mostly resolved. He has no issues with Osclasspoint 4.4 release ... until ... he had.
Then he asked me to upgrade to Osclass 5 (beta at the time). I explained to him that we have no idea how this would work (or not).
After a full backup, we upgraded to 5.1beta2.
Everything went well, no database issues since DB structures was what we were afraid. Apparently the customer didn't added or removed any Locations data, so no issues.
With Osclass 5.1b2 we have some issues with compatibility of themes and plugins. Half of the plugins do not work, mainly because paths of files are totally changed. The theme he uses also work with some issues, that we are not able to fix since the developer of the theme is not any longer available.
So now, we have a working 5.1b2 Osclass site, with 3 plugins working and a theme with issues. And also there is not even a theme we could suggest to buy.
Half baked release in my opinion. Maybe technically advanced and secure, but the website owners do not care about the code quality. They want a stable site that works for their business or whatever.
