Hi,
Before all, thank you and congratulation for www.valueweb.gr Forum. I have just discovered it and will often visit it because it’s full of useful information about Osclass CMS …
I will need information about 3 TOPICS :
TOPIC no.1 : Could Osclass handle +50 million users/listings ?
We would like to relaunch a site with a new CMS like Osclass and please find below some information about that ofline website.
In fact, it’s not a classified ads website but a directory of users/members :
- Each registered user could post one listing only with one photo and no more
- Category : 20 main Categories with about 20 Subcategories for each
- Location : all worldwide countries (dropdown) with all region (dropdown) and the city is a text field
- Custom Fields (filters) : 6 checkboxes fields but it will become 30 fields with Osclass (because each checkbox is one field with Osclass CMS)
- Plugin 1 : redirect to the Registration/Login page as soon as the visitor clicks on any listing
- Plugin 2 : add to favorite
- Plugin 3 : Instant messenger (one-to-one user, no attached files). No Email, except during the registration and a contact page (admin)
- Plugin 4 : Recaptcha (front end)
- Plugin 5 : SEO
- Plugin 6 : XML sitemap
- Plugin 7 : Cache plugin
And no more … Only one language, No comments, No newsletters (no marketing Email), No blogs, No Forum, No saved search, No attached files (except one photo/listing) No payment (free site), ….
So far, that website was rather simple and Osclass CMS offers all these features and much more if required …
However, that website was rather large at the end with a database of +50 million of users (with around +50 million listings) with an average of : +30 million active users; +40,000 daily unique visitors; +150,000 daily page views … simultaneous active visitors (concurrent connections) could reach +10,000 hits sometimes (week-ends) …
About the existing software : it not a really a true CMS but a framework
About the existing servers/databases : it’s a complex structure with multiple dedicated servers/databases (nginx , cloudflare CDN and others …) and I believe that the instant messenger was running on separate server but cannot confirm it …
Please we would like to know if Osclass CMS can handle such large website or not ?
TOPIC no.2 : Osclass mobile apps (Android and iOS)
Please I am looking for information about OSCLASS mobile apps (Android and iOS), like pro & cons for instance and others …
TOPIC no.3 : Looking for Osclass Developer
I need to modify my personal websites and I am looking for one Osclass Developer :
He need to know about Osclass plugins, templates, optimization, mobile apps and many others too …
Moreover, I would wish to monetize one site and need to integrate a new payment provider/gateway.
Knowledge of WordPress is a plus but not mandatory (my first sites are WordPress and might be replaced by Osclass …)
For information, I have one spare Osclass site with my template/plugins/settings on a shared server which is used for test …
Please where to find/meet the best Osclass developers ?
Thank you for your help & Regards,
Christophe
I think that the real answer to your question about Osclass performance, is best to be given by Osclass team and Osclass company.
The same for finding a good developer for Osclass. Osclass.org forum has a specific area for that i think.

Having said that, i think that if Osclass can't handle that, no software can. With the proper hosting setup (that may cost a lot) and with some tuning, you will be ok.
But this is just a guess.
Hi Alessandro,
Thank you for all information and web links ...
I agree, Osclass is a light and a robust CMS ...
Around two month ago, I installed 15 languages for test, all countries/states/cities databases, entered 1000 categories plus 1000 custom fields and the website was stable, fast and running well ...
So far, the only problem I could meet was in the admin panel with languages or permalinks, and it was solved by simply login/logout into the admin panel and activate again the languages or permalinks ... for such reason, I am curious to know if the admin panel could handle +50 million of users and listings ...
Once, I meet an issue with a Premium template which suddenly slow down the website after its activation and I couldn't login anymore to the admin panel ... then I have installed again Osclass ... For such reason, I prefer to test any template/plugin on a SPARE Osclass site before installing them on my online websites because I am not sure that the templates/plugins from Osclass Market are fully tested ....
About caching, I believe that is a server memcache.
And what about Osclass cache plugins (CMS cache plugin and not server plugin), which one could be the best, reliable and updated ... ?
Thank you,
Christophe
Well Osclass is not so "light" as you think, i would say it is demanding on several areas, memory one of them.
About your question about caching, there is no official cache plugin for Osclass at Market. There is one, based on some semi-finished plugin from Osclass team. Works ok, still you are at your own.
Server cache should be used along with PHP 7.
The problem is that even at forums.osclass.org, big site owners or (1) don't exist using Osclass or (2) they don't particitate or hide it. So we don't know.
Personally i haven't seen ANY REALLY BIG Osclass site.
OK, I understand ...
I hope that a developer will sell soon a good cache plugin for Osclass ... Other CMS competitors offer such cache plugin ...
About big website, I am going to contact Osclass team ...
For information, I have bought 3 templates and 4 plugins from Osclass market ...
The first template is very beautiful but doesn't work well with 2 plugins ...
The second template really slow down the website (the search by keywords is a nightmare !!) and might not be compatible with one plugin because I couldn't login anymore to the admin panel ...
The last template (which is not really beautiful) works very well with all 4 plugins ...
I believe that developers test their plugins with the default Bender template and their own template (if their sell templates) but these plugins are not always compatible with other plugins/templates from the Osclass market ... I asked them for support but they blame the plugins/templates of other developers (it become a circle) ...
For such reason, I will need support from a developer because I am not enough good for coding ...
Well, Osclass is very good but a lot of things are missing. Caching is one and REnew function is an other, and i could go on for a long list.
No matter how much i like Osclass, there is a BIG problem with it: The developers behind it totally ignore what their community want/need. We have NO saying in Osclass future and we have NO idea of where Osclass is going (some roadmap).
Sad but true, and should be taken into consideration if someone wants to build a BUSINESS with Osclass.
