Comparing the structure of db between Osclass 5 and Osclass 4.4 it seems there are several differences.
Not sure if you can go safely from 4.4 to 5, still i'm not a developer. Maybe you can, maybe not. I do not have the time to test this. If anyone else has the time to test it, please do and let us know.
I tried to upgrade an Osclasspoint 4.4 release to Osclass 5 release.
After a few hours, i can say YOU CAN'T.
While a few issues can be fixed manually within the Database (for example the defaut Omega theme for admin), after that you encounter several notices and warnings and errors in everything.
So for most users (99%) YOU CAN'T.
As @editor had posted in the past, if you go with OsclassPoint release, you are married to that release. And i guess the same goes for every release, there is NO compatibility between them. You can't go back and forth.

@fulcanelli This was expected. Several differences in the database.
Maybe in the future there will be a "convert" plugin for all that, but seeing the current status of things ... i doubt it.

The winner is Osclasspoint release since most webmasters have migrated to that release.

Maybe some battle is over but not the "war" as you say.
Personnaly i do not like much Osclasspoint release (and in general Osclasspoint/MB-Themes) for several reasons.
I wish all the best to Mindstellar releases and also i wish that more developers support them in the future.
