The hosting provider is DNHOST (GR).
Note that the site is in a subfolder within another site where the server is working fine
Settings seem right. I see no problem, it should be working fine.
This is definitely a hosting issue, and the error (authentication or other) actually IS in your provider's mail server logs.
And also seems strange that works in a subfolder.
As a last test (long shot) can you put something in Name From and try again?
We also tried these:
Hostname:mail.domain.gr, domain.gr
Mail from:notifications@domain.gr
Name from:agelies,notifications@domain.gr
Server port:587, 465
Username: notifications@domain.gr
Password
•••••••••••
Encryption
Options: blank, ssl
SMTP: SMTP authentication enabled
POP: Use POP before SMTP, blank, enabled
DNHost is using ONLINE SAS in France for hosting and ONLINE SAS is a spammer (among other awful things)
Maybe the IP of mail server is black listed?
Note that the hosting provider's data works well on another site in a subfolder as well as in POP PEEPER

This is easy to find, take the mail.xxx.gr and use
to check the ip.
Also also a long shot is to enable Osclass debug to a log and check for possible errors.

Since this a new (and empty i suppose) site, can you make an update to Osclass 3.9 and see if this is solved?
